Hey There

The Shoals is no stranger to the music scene. Known as the Hit Recording Capital of the World, there are loads of resources in our region that can help you make your music project a reality. Shoals Music Makers serves as support and a point of contact for those wishing to record in The Shoals area. The project is currently housed and managed by the Shoals Economic Development Authority. 

The Incentive

Introducing The Shoals Music Makers Incentive Program, where you can get up to 30% of your budget back if you record in The Shoals.


Requirements

  • Full recording budget must be submitted prior to substantial recording taking place. 

  • Recording must take place in Colbert or Lauderdale County

  • Incentive is based on reimbursement of receipts presented.

    •                    The Studio Project Budget (Eligible Expenses)         SMM Reimbursement Amount (Based on Budget)​

      • Tier 1     $5,000 - $9,999                                               up to 10%

      • Tier 2     $10,000 - $24,999                                           up to 15%

      • Tier 3     $25,000 - $74,999                                           up to 20%

      • Tier 4     $75,000 - $200,000+                                         up to 30% 

Stipulations

  • Artist must compose at least two social media posts on two different platforms. 

  • "Shoals Music Makers" must be mentioned in credits. 

  • Must agree to a potential media release for the recording.

 

Projects will be reviewed for potential approval by the advisory committee. The reimbursement for chosen applicants is not distributed until the project is completed.
